Add RTC functionality to capes that don't already have it!
This small board plugs between the BeagleBoard and the cape, adding the DS3231 chip and CR2032 coin cell battery to keep time when your controller is disconnected from power.
At only 0.18" thick, it will not interfere with many capes. There are no traces on the bottom of the board to provide complete isolation so you don't have to worry about it resting against a component.
Simply enable RTC under Status/Control > FPP Settings > Time > Real Time Clock. Select "DS1305 / DS1307 / DS3231 (PiCap)"
Why does it cost so much? The DS3231 is an extremely accurate RTC with integrated TCXO/Crystal. The chip is expensive. The Samtec gold SMT bottom entry low profile header is also extremely expensive.
CR2032 Battery is included with purchase.
